Key Job Duties:
1. Regularly maintaining and troubleshooting the control systems, inspect and maintain refrigeration control systems on refrigerated trucks, trailers, and containers.
2. Troubleshoot and repair any control-related issues in temperature regulation systems to ensure that produce remains at the required temperatures during transportation.
3. Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control-related faults in refrigeration units and resolve them promptly to minimize downtime.
4. Calibrate and optimize temperature controls and sensors within refrigeration systems to ensure accurate readings and system performance.
5. Set up and adjust control settings for various refrigeration units based on the needs of the transported goods.
6. Ensure that PLCs are correctly programmed to maintain optimal conditions for refrigerated produce during transportation.
7. Install and set up new control systems or refrigeration units for new vehicles or trailers in the fleet.
8. Monitor the performance of refrigeration units to ensure they are functioning within the required temperature ranges.
9. Conduct inspections to detect potential issues before they lead to system failures, ensuring continuous operation of the refrigeration units.
10. Coordinate with other maintenance teams to ensure that vehicles and trailers are maintained in optimal working conditions.
Skills and Eligibility:
- 1 year college diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 6 months of experience is preferred.
- In-depth understanding of safety regulations and protocols related to truck HVAC systems.
- Understanding of refrigeration systems and their parts (electronic and mechanical).
- Experience with PLCs and temperature control systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and electronic issues.
- Effective communication skills in English for interacting with clients, fleet managers, and team members.
- Strong organizational skills for drafting reports, scheduling, and documentation.
- Willingness to stay updated with industry advancements and new technologies.
- Physical capability to perform hands-on work, including lifting heavy equipment and working in various environmental conditions.
