Child Caregiver – Private Home

 

Job Summary:

1. Private household in Scarborough, ON is looking for a full-time Child Caregiver-Private Home.
2. The employee is required to be flexible to cover shifts, some weekends. Overtime may be required. Hours will vary from day, night and evenings.
3. Salary: $20 per hour
4. Hours: 30 hours per week
5. Work Site Environment: Non-smoking, Scent-free
6. Work Location: Must work in employer's home: 41 Kawneer Terr, Scarborough, ON, M1P 0C2
7. Employment Expected to Start on: As Soon As Possible

 

Job Duties:

1. Maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment for the child.
2. Take the child to and from school.
3. Prepare meal and snack selections for the child.
4. Plan and supervise structured educational activities and playtime for the child.
5. Provide educational training based on the child’s age, including outdoor and indoor activities, games, reading, etc.
6. Oversee and promote the child’s emotional and social development.
7. Discipline the child according to the methods requested by the parents.
8. Keep up-to-date records of the child’s development, routines, and interests.
9. When necessary, administer first-aid or CPR to children.

 

Requirements:

1. Completion of Secondary (High) School education is required
2. Previous experience in the same field and/or previous full-time training in the field will be an asset
3. First Aid Certificate; CPR Certificate would be an asset
4. Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English
