Job Title: Director of Operations
Location: Montreal, QC (on-site, this is not a remote position)
Position Type: Full-Time
Annual Salary: CAD $150,000

About The Firm

We are assisting a dynamic and leading immigration law dedicated to guiding individuals, families, and businesses through complex immigration procedures.

Position Overview

The Director of Operations will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth running of our firm’s daily operations. From overseeing case processing and invoicing to driving productivity enhancements, this position will involve leading, coaching, and motivating a multidisciplinary team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strategic vision, strong leadership skills, and a passion for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Management: Oversee all daily operations, ensuring that case processing, invoicing, and other administrative functions run efficiently and meet quality standards.

  • Process Improvement: Evaluate and refine current processes to enhance workflow, reduce costs, and boost overall productivity across the practice.

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor staff, setting clear performance goals and providing constructive feedback to encourage professional development.

  • Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, monitor expenses, and collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate billing, timely payments, and fiscal responsibility.

  • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to relevant legal regulations and internal quality standards, particularly relating to immigration law procedures.

  • Strategic Planning: Work closely with senior management to develop short- and long-term operational strategies aligned with the firm’s mission and growth objectives.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong relationships with vendors, clients, and regulatory bodies, acting as a key point of contact for operational matters.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, or a related field (master’s degree or MBA is an asset). Member of the Quebec Bar (“Barreau du Québec”) is a significant asset.

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in an operations leadership role; strong experience in Canadian immigration is required.

  • Skills:
    • Proven track record in process optimization and project management.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
    • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and cost controls.
    • Ability to adapt to new technology platforms and promote digital transformation.
    • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset, given our Montreal location and diverse clientele.
