Job duties
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings.
- Layout reference points and patterns
- Transport and pack raw materials, finished products and equipment throughout the plant manually or using powered equipment.
- Align parts in relation to each other, using jacks, turnbuckles, clips, wedges etc.
- Mark location of holes to be drilled and install temporary fasteners to hold part in place for welding or riveting.
- Install packing, gaskets, liners, and structural accessories and members, such as doors, hatches, brackets, and clips.
- Tack weld clips and brackets in place prior to permanent welding.
- Fabricate metal parts using various techniques
- Setup and operate metal-working machines
- Conduct quality checks for product compliance
