Responsibilities

  • Analyze welding process specifications to determine project requirements.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and welding processes to ensure precision and accuracy in fabrication and welding tasks.
  • Inspect welds to verify compliance with established quality standards and specifications.
  • Operate flame-cutting equipment manually or semi-automatically to prepare metal materials.
  • Use metal shaping, straightening, and bending tools, such as brakes and shears, to prepare parts for assembly.
  • Fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal pieces for assembly or repair.
  • Operate oxygen arc-cutting (arc-air) equipment for cutting or gouging metal surfaces.
  • Assess materials to determine their suitability for welding processes.
  • Safely handle and operate hoisting and lifting equipment to position materials and parts.
  • Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
  • Operate pre-configured brazing or soldering machines to bond metal components or fill seams, holes, and indentations.
  • Set up, monitor, and adjust robotic welding production lines, including start-up and shut-down operations.
  • Conduct minor repairs and routine maintenance on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
