JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at Nonrel Technologies Ltd. As a Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining innovative software solutions that drive our company's success. Your responsibilities will include analyzing user requirements, writing clean and efficient code, testing and debugging applications, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software products. JOB DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES:
- Gather and register user requirements to deliver logical and comprehensive digital solutions and strategies
- Use, develop, and address solutions through cloud-based systems such as AWS, Azure or GCP
- Use, develop, and address solutions through coding languages such as Java, Python, or similar language
- Use, develop, and address solutions in one or more of these areas: messaging systems (Apache, Kafka), stream and batch processing (Apache Spark etc.), distributed caching (Redis etc.), ETL pipeline, Big Data Query
- Research and present comprehensive tailored digital solutions that meet the clients’ specific needs
- Explore software testing through data development and processing, and network and system integration to ensure the software is a long-term sustainable solution for the client
- Exhibit proficiency in data structures, design patterns, algorithm design, and complexity analysis
- Develop maintenance and troubleshooting procedures for our software systems, and upgrade, repair, or develop any operating systems' error, and ensure the software is up-to-date with latest technologies
- Create quick proof-of-concept prototypes
- Other related duties as required
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:
- At least two years of experience as a Software Engineer
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer science or a related technology field is required
- Experience with any functional programming – Scala, Haskell (highly desired)
- Knowledge of the Agile software development approach, CI/CD, Gradle, Maven, GIT, code review and code coverage tools
- Basic knowledge of AI/Machine Learning concepts
- Good knowledge and experience in microservices architecture, containerization, and orchestration (Docker and Kubernetes etc.)
- Verbal and written English communication skills
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (designers, project managers, etc.).
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Maintain attention to detail and accuracy in coding and testing.
- Adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.
- Sit for extended periods working at a computer.
- Manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Stay updated on emerging web technologies and best practices.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Permanent Full-time, Long-term.
WAGES: $60.50/Hour
HOURS OF WORK: 40 hours per week
OVERTIME: One and one-half times the regular wage rate as per provincial regulations.
BENEFITS PACKAGE:
- Insurance from Workplace Safety and Insurance Board covered by employer.
- Vacation pay as per provincial regulations will be paid each payday on a semi-monthly basis.
