Family in Unionville, ON, L3R 5W1 is looking for a Home Support Worker for a 70-year-old male.
The employee is required to be flexible to cover shifts, some weekends. Overtime may be required. Hours will vary from day, night and evenings.
Salary: $20 per hour.
Hours: full-time, 30 hours per week.
Work Site Environment: Non-smoking, Scent free.
Work Location: 31 Rembrandt Dr, Unionville, ON, L3R 5W1; Must work in employer's/client's home.
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.):First Aid Certificate; CPR Certificate would be an asset.
Job Duties:
- Assist the elderly individual with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Provide support for mobility and physical activity routines.
- Perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, and bed-making.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals, offering assistance with eating when necessary.
- Provide companionship through conversation and activities to alleviate loneliness and promote emotional well-being.
- Accompany the senior to medical appointments and social outings to encourage community engagement.
- Monitor the senior's mental health and promptly communicate significant changes to family members or healthcare professionals.
- Maintain a safe, comfortable, and supportive living environment for the senior.
Requirements:
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Prefer to have relevant experience/training in the field.
- Able to speak, write, read and understand English.
