Wage: $51,000 - $60,000 per annum
Leave: 15 vacation days per annum

JOB DUTIES. The following duties will be performed in this position:
- Perform conflict searches, open files, complete client identification/verification and prepare retain letters;
- Prepare, edit and format various correspondence and documents; able to work from precedents;
- Open and distribute regular and electronic incoming mail and other material and coordinate the flow of information internally and with other departments or organizations;
- Prepare trust deposits, trust cheque requests, trust transfers, investment deposits and redemptions, generate monthly WIP and AR reports and prepare invoices;
- Maintain a bring forward system to ensure follow up and receipt of requested materials/documents;
- Calendar management including scheduling telephone, video conference and in-person meetings, booking boardrooms and setting up virtual meetings;
- Liaise with external parties, including clients, other law firms, governmental organizations and firm service providers or contractors;
- Perform other duties and special projects as required.
REQUIREMENTS. The successful applicant will possess, at a minimum, the following skills and experience:
- Graduate of a legal administrative assistant program or graduate of a post-secondary program of education in a field related to law;
- Minimum one year of experience as a legal administrative assistant;
- Previous experience in real estate / construction law;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Flexible and adaptable to changing demands and schedules;
- Familiar with billing/invoicing processes in a legal environment;
- Able to work independently with minimal instructions and as part of a team;
- Ability to work within deadlines and complete tasks in a timely manner;
- Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English; and
- Attention to detail.
