Collingwood Insurance is the leading ICBC Autoplan Insurance broker in Collingwood East Vancouver. Since 1990, we have helped thousands of British Columbians save on auto, life, health, travel and business Insurance coverage. We are currently looking for an Administrative Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will process strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced office environment.

 

Job position: Administrative officer

Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent

Hourly Wage: $35.00 - $36.00 per hour (Depending on working experience)

Working Hours: 30 hours per week

Work Location: 5750 Tyne Street, Vancouver, B.C. Canada, V5R 4L6

Start Date of Employment: As soon as possible

Position Available: 1

Benefits: 4 % vacation pay

 

Job Duties:

  • Coordinate and manage daily office procedures to ensure smooth operations and compliance with established policies;
  • Analyze existing procedures, identify areas for improvement, and implement new administrative processes;
  • Set work priorities and supervise, delegate tasks to office staff, and monitor progress to ensure that all assigned responsibilities are completed accurately and on time;
  • Plan and coordinate office services, including insurance brokers, office equipment and supplies, insurance application forms, maintenance and security services;
  • Support budgeting and financial planning by monitoring expenses, maintaining accurate financial records, and implementing cost-control measures;
  • Organize and maintain both physical and digital filing systems, ensuring all company records are kept up-to-date and secure;
  • Act as a liaison between departments, ensuring effective communication and problem resolution to support office efficiency.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Completion of secondary school is required;
  • A university degree or college diploma in business or public administration is preferred;
  • At least 1 year of experience in a senior clerical or executive secretarial position related to office administration is usually required;
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail;
  • Excellent communication abilities and the capability to coordinate team activities;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, ensuring optimal office operations.
